Appletree Treatment Centre opened in 1995 and continues to remain a small caring independent family run organisation, we grow and learn together in an environment of flexibility and creativity. Our early intervention, therapeutic approach, life changing relationships, homes and schools make a real difference to the life chances of some of the UK’s youngest traumatised children.

Our children are aged 6 to 10 on admission, our aim is to break the cycle of chaos and rejection, giving them the skills and resilience they need to return to a family setting before they reach their teenage years.

This is how our team members feel about working at Appletree Treatment Centre

Our Homes & Schools are small, caring, and personal. Adult to child ratios in our homes and schools ensure our children get all the help and support they need.

Appletree is home for up to 12 children based in Natland

Fell House is home for up to 8 children based in Grange-over-Sands

Willow Bank is home for up to 5 children based in Kendal

Appletree School has 4 classrooms for up to 17 children, Fell House School has 2 classrooms for up to 8 children. Each class has a teacher and 1 to 2 teaching assistants.

Everyone within Appletree Treatment Centre has a responsibility for, and is committed to, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and for ensuring that they are protected from harm. We carry out the appropriate vetting and verifications on all staff and this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
